The Inside Information Platform (IIP), managed by MIBGAS and OMIE, has passed all the technical requirements and tests demanded by the Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER) and has obtained definitive approval as an IIP (Inside Information Platform), as communicated by ACER to MIBGAS and OMIE, the organised gas and electricity market operators respectively in the Iberian Peninsula and promoters of this platform.

The definitive approval follows a series of trials and tests allowing ACER to confirm that the Iberian IIP complies with all the requirements laid down in the ACER Guidance on the disclosure of inside information and in “REMIT” (Regulation (EU) No 1227/2011 on wholesale energy market integrity and transparency.) The MIBGAS/OMIE platform has passed all the phases required by ACER, as shown in the REMIT portal.

This platform, launched jointly by MIBGAS and OMIE and in operation since 1 January 2021, offers participants in the electricity and gas markets the possibility of consulting and/or publishing inside information that affects or might affect the markets. This service helps participants fulfil their obligations as regards the disclosure of inside information deriving from REMIT.

With this platform, OMIE and MIBGAS have taken one more step in their commitment to helping to make sure the Iberian Energy Market continues to be one of the most transparent in the EU.
