This morning MIBGAS held the 50th session of the Gas Market Agents Committee (CAM) organised at the Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid and a subsequent event under the title: “Some notes on the regulation and policies to support green hydrogen.”
In the presence of more than 100 attendees, MIBGAS Chairman Raul Yunta Huete, moderated this discussion focused on the current situation and future of hydrogen in Spain, which included expert voices from Natalia Fabra, professor of Fundamentals of Economic Analysis at the Carlos III University of Madrid, and Santiago González Herraiz, head of the Renewable Hydrogen Department at the IDAE (Institute for Energy Diversification and Savings).
Previously, during the CAM session, the agents were presented, as usual, with the latest news regarding trends in the market. Raúl Santamaría, General Manager of MIBGAS, highlighted the following aspects in his speech: the market has remained tight due to the cut in production and Asian demand; the upward trend in prices has been consolidated during the month of May in TTF, HH and JKM; once again, marked volatility has been observed in the markets; while gas production remains limited and without an elastic response on the part of supply to the increase in demand.
Next, Nerea Chacartegui Moya, director of GTS markets at Enagás, and Sara Vaz Silva, Natural Gas Market Operations at REN, reported on the activity in the Spanish and Portuguese gas systems in recent months.
