MIBGAS carries out two reforestation projects as part of its CSR actions

22/04/2024

Among the actions included in MIBGAS’ CSR (corporate social responsibility) action plan 2023-2024 are activities relating to SDG (Sustainable Development Goal) number 13: climate action.

Thus, in this period, MIBGAS has supported two entities dedicated to the recovery of degraded environments with the planting of native species.

At the end of last year, in collaboration with reforestation experts  Bosquia, planting was carried out in Asturias, specifically in Cue (Llanes), with native trees that help the recovery of the environment, the flora and also the fauna. With the creation of this forest of 100 trees by MIBGAS, 18 metric tons of CO2 emissions have been offset.

For its part, the action in Portugal has been developed with the entity Plantar um árvore (“Plant a tree”) which, last February, planted 100 specimens (including oaks, hawthorn and myrtle) in the Sintra-Cascais natural park, in the Tapa da Urzeira area.

The objective of this type of actions (included in the CSR plan) is to give concrete expression to the corporate purpose assumed by MIBGAS, its responsibility to society as a company, in its environment, generating a positive and sustainable impact such as that of these two reforestation actions.
