On 12 March the president of MIBGAS, Raúl Yunta, addressed the 61st general assembly of ATEG - Asociación Técnica Española de Galvanización, a non-profit association representing the hot-dip steel galvanising industry in Spain and Portugal, analysing the challenges and opportunities presented by the gas market.

During his presentation, Raúl Yunta took the opportunity to address the influence of the Middle East crisis and the consequences of the closure of the Strait of Hormuz for European energy prices, using the Spanish and Dutch market indices as references.

Apart from this, the Managing Director of MIBGAS, Raúl Santamaría, participated the day before in a round table at the 2026 annual congress of the Association of Independent Energy Retailers (ACIE). The all-day session was opened by the president of the association, Julio César Nieto, who called for the reform of the Last Resort Tariff (TUR) for gas, proposing its indexation to the Iberian gas market, MIBGAS.
