January beats the volume traded record in Iberian Gas Market - MIBGAS (press release).

MIBGAS, as Organised Iberian Gas Market operator, has beaten the historical volume traded record in January, reaching the higher volume ever traded since its launch on December 2015. Actually, the volume of the trades arranged within this month has overcome 3,5 TWh, which has resulted in the coverage of 9,2% of the natural gas national demand.

Comparing January 2019 results with same month of the previous year, traded volume has been doubled. In January 2018 it had been traded 1,48 TWh while in January 2019 that volume was 3,57 TWh.
Moreover, traded volume regarding the national demand has also increased from 4,2% in January 2018 to 9,2% last month. Furthermore, during January 2019, it has been recorded punctual peaks of traded volume, when it was reached the 18% (day 31) and the 14% (days 14, 21, 25 and 28) of the national demand coverage.

Likewise, values obtained in 2018 illustrate the positive evolution on MIBGAS. Last year, traded volume was doubled regarding 2017 (from 13,4 TWh in 2017 to 24,3 TWh in 2018). Currently, MIBGAS has 85 agents registered in its platform.

Trayport implementation

Furthermore, MIBGAS continues developing new measures to improve liquidity of the Market and get it closer to the European standards. Among them there is Trayport implementation, which is the most used trading platform in Europe, now it is available for trading MIBGAS products. This new service allows agents to use Trayport in order to arrange trades in Organised Iberian Gas Market.
