AXPO IBERIA and ENGIE ESPAÑA appointed as voluntary market maker at MIBGAS for the second half of 2018 (press release).

Axpo Iberia and ENGIE España have been appointed voluntary market makers in the MIBGAS electronic trading platform for the second semester of 2018, as stated in the corresponding Resolution of the Department for Energy Policy and Mines.

For the first time, this service is awarded to two companies, in this case: Axpo Iberia which already dealt with such a market function for the second half of 2017; and ENGIE España which performed this task for the first half of the present year. It should be also noted the fact that both companies have experience in performing this market revitalization role in most of the European organised markets. The task of the (voluntary) market maker is to stimulate the growth of the liquidity of natural gas wholesale markets by means of achieving the continuous presence of purchase and sale offers on the platform’s screen, specifically in the continuous market.
