Diário da República published last Tuesday, September 30, the document containing the MIBGAS Rules for Portugal and the associated procedures: Regras de negociação de produtos com entrega no VTP na plataforma MIBGAS e procedimentos associados, which were approved in early September by Portuguese regulator ERSE (Entidade Reguladora dos Serviços Energéticos). The Diário da República is the official publication of the Portuguese Government, similar to the Boletín Oficial del Estado (BOE) in Spain.

In this way, the MIBGAS rules are made official for the Portuguese market that will allow the negotiation of natural gas products with physical delivery at the VTP (virtual trading point o ponto virtual de balanço) of Portugal.

The negotiation of Portuguese products in MIBGAS will also allow the establishment of a natural gas reference price for the Portuguese market, in addition to providing a platform to agents operating in Portugal where they can negotiate anonymously and securely.
